Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 4 tablespoons shortening
- 3/4 cup milk
Directions
- 1. Preheat oven to 450°F (230°C).
- 2. In a large bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt.
- 3. Cut in shortening until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- 4. Gradually stir in milk until mixture forms a soft dough.
- 5. On a lightly floured surface, roll out dough to 1/2-inch thickness.
- 6. Cut into circles with a biscuit cutter.
- 7. Place biscuits on an ungreased baking sheet.
- 8. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until golden brown.
