Ingredients

  • -1/2 cup butter, softened
  • -1 cup white sugar
  • -2 eggs
  • -1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • -1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • -1 teaspoon baking powder
  • -1/4 teaspoon salt
  • -1/2 cup milk

Directions

  1. 1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour a 9x9 inch pan.
  2. 2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla. Combine the flour, baking powder, and salt; stir into the creamed mixture alternately with the milk.
  3. 3. Spread evenly into the prepared pan.
  4. 4. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes in the preheated oven. Cake is done when it springs back to the touch. Cool in pan before serving.
