Kung Pao Tofu

Ingredients
- - 1 block of firm tofu, cubed
- - 1 red bell pepper, diced
- - 1 green bell pepper, diced
- - 1/2 cup roasted peanuts
- - 3-4 dried red chilies
- - 3 cloves of garlic, minced
- - 1-inch piece of ginger, minced
- - 2 green onions, sliced
- - 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- - 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
- - 1 tablespoon black vinegar
- - 1 tablespoon sugar
- - 1 teaspoon cornstarch
- - 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- - Salt and pepper to taste
Directions
- 1. In a small bowl, mix together soy sauce, hoisin sauce, black vinegar, sugar, and cornstarch to make the sauce. Set aside.
- 2. Heat vegetable oil in a large pan over medium-high heat. Add cubed tofu and stir fry until golden brown on all sides. Remove tofu from the pan and set aside.
- 3. In the same pan, add a bit more oil if needed and stir fry dried red chilies, garlic, and ginger until fragrant.
- 4. Add diced red and green bell peppers to the pan and stir fry for a few minutes until slightly softened.
- 5. Return the tofu to the pan and pour the sauce over the tofu and vegetables. Stir well to coat everything evenly.
- 6. Add roasted peanuts and green onions to the pan and stir until everything is heated through.
- 7. Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper if needed.
- 8. Serve hot over steamed rice. Enjoy your delicious Kung Pao Tofu!
