Ingredients
- - 2 cups masa harina
- - 2 teaspoons baking powder
- - 1/2 teaspoon salt
- - 2 teaspoons vegetable oil
- - 1 1/2 cups warm water
Directions
- 1. In a medium bowl, combine the masa harina, baking powder, and salt.
- 2. Add the oil and mix until the mixture resembles a coarse meal.
- 3. Slowly add the warm water and mix until a soft dough forms.
- 4. Knead the dough for 5 minutes, then cover and let it rest for 30 minutes.
- 5. Divide the dough into 8 equal portions.
- 6. On a lightly floured surface, roll each portion into a ball.
- 7. Press each ball into a thin round about 5 inches in diameter.
- 8. Heat a large skillet over medium heat.
- 9. Place the rounds in the skillet and cook for about 2 minutes on each side, or until they are lightly browned.
- 10. Serve warm with your favorite toppings. Enjoy!
