Ingredients

  • - 2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast
  • - 1 tsp sugar
  • - 1 1/2 cups warm water
  • - 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • - 2 tsp salt
  • - 2 tbsp olive oil

Directions

  1. 1. In a large bowl, combine the yeast, sugar, and warm water. Stir until the yeast is dissolved. Let sit for 5 minutes.
  2. 2. Add the flour, salt, and olive oil to the bowl and mix until a dough forms.
  3. 3. Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead for 5 minutes until the dough is smooth and elastic.
  4. 4. Place the dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let rise for 1 hour until doubled in size.
  5. 5. Once the dough has risen, punch it down and turn it out onto a lightly floured surface. Roll or stretch the dough out into a circle or rectangle.
  6. 6. Place the dough onto a greased baking sheet or pizza pan. Top with your favorite toppings and bake at 425°F for 15-20 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown.
