Ingredients
- - 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- - 1 teaspoon sugar
- - 1 teaspoon salt
- - 1 cup warm water
- - 2 ¼ teaspoons active dry yeast
- - 2 tablespoons olive oil
Directions
- 1. In a small bowl, combine the warm water, sugar, and active dry yeast. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until bubbly.
- 2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour and salt.
- 3. Make a well in the center of the flour mixture and pour in the yeast mixture and olive oil.
- 4. Mix until a dough forms, then knead on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth.
- 5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1-2 hours or until doubled in size.
- 6. Preheat your oven to the highest temperature (usually around 500°F or 260°C).
- 7. Punch down the dough and roll it out on a floured surface to your desired thickness.
- 8. Transfer the rolled-out dough to a pizza pan or baking sheet.
- 9. Add your favorite toppings and bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly.
- 10. Slice, serve, and enjoy your homemade pizza!
