Ingredients
- -3 cups fresh or frozen plums, pitted and halved
- -1/2 cup granulated sugar
- -1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- -1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- -1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- -1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
- -1/4 teaspoon salt
- -1/2 cup cold unsalted butter, cut into cubes
- -1 cup all-purpose flour
- -1/3 cup granulated sugar
- -1 teaspoon baking powder
- -1/4 teaspoon baking soda
- -1/4 teaspoon salt
- -1/2 cup buttermilk
Directions
- 1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Grease a 9-inch baking dish with butter or cooking spray.
- 2. In a large bowl, combine plums, 1/2 cup sugar, 1/4 cup flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger and salt. Toss gently to combine. Spread the mixture into the prepared baking dish.
- 3. In a medium bowl, combine 1 cup flour, 1/3 cup sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Cut in the butter with a pastry cutter or two knives until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in the buttermilk until just combined.
- 4. Drop spoonfuls of the batter over the plum mixture.
- 5. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the filling is bubbly. Serve warm. Enjoy!
