Vodka Sauce

Ingredients

  • - 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • - 1/2 cup onion, finely chopped
  • - 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • - 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • - 1 (28 ounce) can crushed tomatoes
  • - 1/2 cup vodka
  • - 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • - 1/4 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • - Salt and pepper, to taste

Directions

  1. 1. Heat the olive oil in a large saucepan over medium heat.
  2. 2. Add the onion and garlic and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
  3. 3. Add the red pepper flakes and cook for 1 minute.
  4. 4. Add the crushed tomatoes and bring to a simmer.
  5. 5. Add the vodka and simmer for 10 minutes.
  6. 6. Add the cream and Parmesan cheese and simmer for 5 minutes.
  7. 7. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  8. 8. Serve hot over your favorite pasta. Enjoy!
